What is SASE ?

Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) is a cloud-based architectural model that integrates networking capabilities (A in SASE) with security services (SSE in SASE), and delivers centralized policy control through a single cloud platform.

Main Components

Software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN)

A virtualized network overlay over the hardware network that allows software-defined WAN management through single plane.

Firewall as a Service (FWaaS)

Secure Web Gateway (SWG)

Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)

An on-premises or cloud-based security PEP that is placed between cloud service consumers and cloud service providers to combine and interject enterprise security policies as cloud-based resources are accessed

Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
